About Me

My photo
I am new to teaching third grade this year. I previously taught Kindergarten for five years. I always hear how it takes someone special to teach Kindergarten....I'm hoping it takes someone just as special to teach third grade too. I believe a great teacher is somebody that's going to treat the students like the people that they are, keep them excited about school, and to make learning fun! I have three wonderful children, twin girls and my little boy, who keep me quite busy when school isn't (when is that???). I have a fantastic husband, who thankfully is addicted to football and all other sports as much as I am to teaching!!

Columbus Day activities from Chalk Talk

Visit Chalk Talk for other great Columbus Day ideas.  The top picture is a TLC activity, the second is a nice writing prompt (which is a huge focus for our county this year with the new implementation of Common Core).
